Well, here it is! It's what many Americans have been longing for -- hoping and changing for -- all their lives. It's the new Great American Nationalized Health Care Plan, coming soon to a socialized, 2nd rate economy near you!  Just look at the bright colors! Be dazzled by the plethora of existing federal and state agencies that come together seamlessly for your benefit! Marvel at the loss of choice, quality, and most of all, personal sovereignty with this mighty program for the masses! No, it's not a new board game from Milton-Bradley. This is a flow chart for new Obama Care that Rahm Emmanuel and company are prepared to shovel down the throats of all Americans, whether they like it or not. Welcome to the brave new world of federally managed, federally mandated, health care. With the glaring exceptions of the Medicare and Medicaid programs, what had ostensibly been a privately-funded 17-percent of our nation's economy will soon be federally hijacked. We'll find it next in the hands of B. Hussein Obama, Rahm Emmanuel, Nancy Pelosi, Ted Kennedy, Christopher Dodd, and a constellation of other Beltway ner'-do-wells who seek to incrementally control the lives of private citizens.

end-user citizens in the form of additional taxes are estimated to exceed $1.5 trillion in the course of ten years. Only $1.5 trillion. We'll just add that to the several trillions of dollars already piled up by Administration's orgy of spending. Money talk aside, the plan 'graciously allows' those with existing plans to keep them. How magnanimous of our benevolent leaders! Those without a private plan will be coerced by power of federal law to purchase a plan from private companies, or opt for the government-provided plan. What portion of that last sentence bears resemblance to our Founding Fathers' implicit or explicit intent in the Constitution?

The Senate version, although less graphically impressive, is every bit as onerous. Guided by Christopher Dodd (D-CT), SR-325 boasts many of the alleged benefits offered in the House   plan.     According   to   the  Senate   HELP   (Health,

Where do we see, or interpret, the guarantee of medical care? More specifically, where do we find the legitimacy of using government power to confiscate tax monies to redistribute to others for such care?  
Education,  Labor, and Pensions) Committee press release: "... Shared responsibility requires that everyone - government, insurance companies, medical providers, individuals and employers - has a part in solving America’s health care crisis. The Affordable Health Choices Act requires those businesses which do not provide coverage for their workers to contribute to the cost of providing publicly sponsored coverage for those workers. Mr. Dodd and company are so inclusive in their blame for the health care dilemma. How generous of them to include government as one of the 'guilty parties'. It's a three-pronged attack, from the Democrat-controlled House, Senate, and White House.   By the way, where's the diversity?

At least the Ranking Member of the Senate HELP Committee, Representative Mike Enzi of Wyoming is offering dissent on the Senate's horrendous offering. In his official statement (also found in the link above), Mr. Enzi stated: 




















Nice words from one of our guys looking out for us. Unfortunately, they are too little, too late. We are in the early days of paying a horrible price for electoral failure. This electoral failure in Congress and the White House is heralding a new era of gleeful government intervention, the likes of which would make the old Soviet Politburos blush with envy. The failure has many fathers -- chief among them is the post-Reagan ongoing cowardice and invisibility of our Republican officials who supposedly know better. Instead of making a loud, principled stand for Constitutional liberty, our side (in general) continues the tactic of dilution and appeasement. If we cannot get past the mentality of the loser, who's only option is to offer a little less collectivistic policy, then we have lost all for future generations.

“The HELP Committee bill is a complete failure that would make our health care system even sicker than it is today. I support President Obama’s call for a bill that will bring down costs, let Americans who like the care they have keep it and not drive up the deficit, but this bill doesn’t achieve any of those goals,” said Enzi, the Senate’s only accountant.

Despite President Obama’s promise not to raise taxes on Americans earning less than $250,000 per year, the bill imposes new taxes on individuals without health insurance. The bill also includes new taxes and mandates on employers that CBO says will cause higher unemployment and lower wages.

“If you like your job, you should be able to keep it. It’s hard for me to believe that with unemployment nearing double digits, Democrats on the HELP Committee would even consider putting more jobs on the chopping block,” Enzi said.

The bill lays the groundwork for a government takeover of health care, creating a government-run health plan that many Americans would be forced onto, and giving Washington bureaucrats the power to ration health care. “No Washington bureaucrat should be able to deny or delay your care,” Enzi said.  “That’s not the kind of coverage Americans want for their families."
In case you didn't get enough, here's more canoodling from Pelosi and Emanuel. And why shouldn't they? From seizures of banks and private industries, to Cap & Trade, to government-run health care, these two architects of American demise, in league with Obama, have an unparalleled record of success.
