RAPTOR REPUBLIC

        yesterday's ideals... tomorrow's promise
Thank you, Rep. David Scott (D-13th District GA) for joining a growing rogue's gallery of pompous, blow hard congressmen who now openly display the arrogance of your personalities, and your contempt for the American people. You're in good company. Despots like Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Henry Waxman, Chuck Schumer, plus Barney Frank and many more in Congress and the current White House administration agree with you that the American people have no business asking questions about the policies being made supposedly on their behalf. You should be angry at them. Yell and point your finger menacingly at them at every opportunity. The serfs deserve it, don't they?

As depicted in the photograph to the left and in the video clip below, Representative Scott lambasted a crowd at a recently held town hall meeting for his 13th Congressional District in Georgia. Raptor Republic invites you to study the geographical configuration of the good congressman's domain surrounding Atlanta.

When Congressman Scott is not frothing at the mouth at one of his town hall meetings, he (or one of his lackeys) is thoughtfully composing website copy on a myriad of issues, including health care. The first two paragraphs from his health care page read as follows:

What we see in these introductory paragraphs, besides the usual platitudes, is the statist approach to the social issues of the day as espoused by the majority of Congress. As always with the statists, the answer for this and every other societal problem is... more government. But, wait a minute. In a poll found on Rep. Scott's same website, questions were asked of site visitors about their current health care situation and opinions. The results are a little confusing, if we are to believe Mr. Scott's assessment of the dire need to reform the system. The results of Scott's own poll do show a different side:

Again, we see the disconnect from fact and liberal dogma. Rep. Scott's own opinion poll shows an overwhelming level of satisfaction for the current heath care plans from poll respondents. The results of the poll and the call for health care reform do not make sense when provided on the same website. The reason for this juxtaposition is really quite simple.

Representative Scott, as all others like him in government, has an agenda contrary to the will of the American people. In the world of the statist, elitist politician, we are sheep who require the continuous and omnipresent benevolence of government control. Sometime long ago, their political DNA became damaged. The resulting political organism that developed was further mutated with infusions of socialist doctrines and Marxist ideologies. In their eyes, you and I are incapable of living life on our own, free terms.

Well, Mr. Scott, America is awaking to the despotism, arrogance, condescension -- even stupidity of you and your comrades. Like Dr. Brian Hill, people from every walk of life are fed up with the lies and government control you offer. We at Raptor Republic, and all around our great country, invite you to continue acting just the way you have been. Your end is near.

"Not a single one of you had the decency to call my office and set up for a meeting!... Those of you who are here and have taken and came and have hijacked this event... THIS IS NOT A HEALTH CARE MEETING!"

All your bad grammer and truth distortions aside, Mr. Scott, that is no way to talk to your constituents. The one 'hijacking' person who respectfully asked you a valid question IS one of your constituents. Were you confused because he didn't 'look' the way you think your constituents should?

I wonder if Scott knows how to navigate the streets of his own district? What we see here is but one example of veritable dozens of urban congressional districts that are gerrymandered beyond all possible coherence. Republicans are just as responsible as their Democrat counterparts for the ridiculous partitioning of naturally formed districts. It's a collaboration amongst thieves where each one thinks he's getting the better of the other. The ugly truth of the matter is that these districts are carved the way they are to allow more 'balanced' minority participation in representative government. It's a formula that has been around for years whereby our leaders expect the American electorate to vote solely on imagined racial prejudices rather than preferences based on the qualifications, character and positions on the issues of the candidates. The formula has a familiar chemical composition to minority set aside initiatives, affirmative action programs, and other racially discriminating efforts that fly in the face of what most Americans view as political equality. This discussion of the gerrymandered 13th Congressional District for Georgia is but a digression. I use it to postulate whether the needs of all Georgians in this geographical area are best served by an official whose election was engineered especially in his favor? Raptor Republic will return to the issue of set-aside districts in the near future.

Does this district make sense to you? I didn't think so. Representative Scott assumed the physician who asked him an embarrassing question did not live in his district. I mean really! Just look at the man! Unfortunately for you, Mr. Scott, Dr. Brian E. Hill DOES live in the 13th District. Your angry outburst directed at Dr. Hill and others in the meeting betrays your overt elitist attitude toward American citizens. Multiple reports on the incident reveal that you had consistently refused requested town hall or district office meetings on the prevailing issue of health care reform. Your reaction toward a concerned citizen at your 'road construction' meeting was one of sanctimonious outrage. It is an attitude shared by far too many of your congressional contemporaries.
Here is video of the embarrassing outburst of Rep. Scott at his recent town hall meeting. Scott embarrasses himself with his unsophisticated response to questions. Scott embarrasses me to think that he and people like him infest the once hallowed halls of Congress. Incidentally, how many people were shown this outburst on regular, Mainstream Media outlets like CNN, MSNBC, ABC, or others? I thought so. (video courtesy of 11alive.com)

Throughout my years in public service, from the Georgia legislature to the House of Representatives, I have made it one of my main objectives to ensure and promote the health and well-being of my fellow Georgians. We have much work to do, but I believe with dedicated efforts, we can achieve success. With 47 million Americans without health insurance and millions more underinsured, there is no question our nation is facing a healthcare crisis.

Every American should be confident that whether they lose their job, change jobs, become sick, or just grow old, they will be able to find affordable, high quality healthcare. We must also focus on ways we can make it easier for employers to provide health insurance to their employees and incentives for employees to purchase healthcare plans. The traditional system is failing hard working Americans and causing additional burdens on families. Access to high quality health care should be available to all American regardless of where they live, their racial ethnicity or income. However, racial and ethnic minorities are too often denied the high quality health care many other Americans receive. (emphasis added) [1]
