end of the republic as we know it?

Once again, I must submit that I am at a loss for understanding. We now have what may be over 50% of the voting public who are too stupid or self-absorbed to make rational electoral choices based on facts and what were previously accepted notions of foundational Americanism. It is the triumph of dumbed-down popular culture, endemic intellectual laziness, and the subterfuge of a government-operated school system.
The grand coalition of Republicans, Reagan-Democrats, and other conservatives is gone -- probably for good. EVEN if we eek out a presidential win on November 4th, I'm afraid all is already lost. The McCain/Palin ticket, although infinitely preferable to the alternative, will be powerless to reverse the tide of collectivism we are witnessing. Too many of us have been asleep at the wheel for too long, and the societal decay may be too entrenched to excise.
Joe Biden is a bona fide idiot, but he is no ideologue. On the meter of political danger, he measures relatively low. His would-be boss, on the other hand, is more Marxist than many ChiCom politburo members.
of a Lexus this year! Oh, the horror! The 'fifth column' has even been successful in convincing many of the cud-chewers that free-markets and capitalism are to blame for their imagined ills, and that benevolent management of the economy (and individual lives by extension) by the federal government is the logical and effective cure for current financial problems. Their darling, their "Dear Leader," Barack Hussein Obama, is just the agent of change for which they are looking.
Consider this. According to Obama's lackey, Joe Biden, he is, "...neat, clean, and articulate," [for a black man]. A political apparatus that would overlook that insult (along with numerous other embarrassments) for the sake of seizing power will stop at nothing to retain and expand that power. Furthermore, has anyone really questioned the Obama campaign about Biden's own remarks in the primary debates? In one of the debate forums, Biden said, in reference to Obama, "The presidency does not lend itself to on-the-job training." Biden's words -- not a Republican's. If Biden was convinced of his righteousness in the Democratic debate, is he not now wrong in his joining the ticket as the vice-presidential nominee? Does anyone else comprehend the ludicrous nature of this disparity between statement and action?
This time, right now, in many ways eclipses the darkest hours of the War of Independence or even the War Between the States. We are poised on the eve of handing over the organs of government to a regime that harbors malevolent ill will toward the real America and her role in the world. We will be solidifying the deal on the fall from a free, self-governing people to a socialist, second-rate power. The lights are going out on Ronald Reagan's "Shining City on a Hill." The pathetic part of it is, all too many Americans are running head-on into the abyss, with tears of joy and song in their hearts for their new "Dear Leader." If you are tempted to think the songs of fealty are an exaggeration, please click on the YouTube video on the left and witness a most disturbing exercise in child exploitation. May God help the rest of us.
The evidence for Obama's unsuitability for elected office of any kind is abundantly clear for all to see. From his voting record as an Illinois state senator, to his voting record (most liberal) as a U.S. senator, to his written statements in not one but two self-aggrandizing autobiographies, to his associations with whacked-out racist pastors and Marxist terrorists, "He who has ears, let him hear." Still, it doesn't matter. The rank-and-file uninformed on the street have been told for a long time by a duplicitous media just how hard they have it in this current Republican administration. Oh, woe is me! We can't afford that $350 thousand house on our teacher's salary anymore. The ARM went up and the value of the house went down (even though we knew we had no business being in the house to begin with). We're losing the investment houses we bought on speculation when home values plummeted with inverse proportionality to our greed. We were going to flip them soon! We can't buy that new jet-ski and outboard boat we've been wanting. We might have to buy a Camry instead
